The album will be pressed as a limited run of white vinyl.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAn ARIA number one album on release, \u003cem\u003eShoot This\u003c\/em\u003e was initially demoed after Motor Ace wrapped up touring their 2001 debut \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eFive Star Laundry\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e. “\u003cem\u003eIt was an exciting time for us\u003c\/em\u003e,” drummer Damo Costin says of the album’s conception. “\u003cem\u003eWe demoed the record at Hothouse Studios in Melbourne and recruited Chris Sheldon, who had mixed Foo Fighters’ \u003cstrong\u003eThe Color And The Shape\u003c\/strong\u003e to come out to Australia to produce the record. The demos were really good, so there was pressure to come up with something speci\u003c\/em\u003eal.” \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe first song frontman Patrick ‘Patch’ Robertson presented to the band was \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bmVA5RtME2g\"\u003eCarry On\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, which would later reach 13 on the ARIA Singles Chart and figure in the Triple J’s 2002 Hottest 100 countdown.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“\u003cem\u003ePatch had come in with Carry On as a demo and we were blown away,” Damo says. “It was a sign of a twist in a new direction and wider in scope\u003c\/em\u003e.” \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBassist Matt Balfe suggests \u003cem\u003eCarry On\u003c\/em\u003e set a new tone for the band. “\u003cem\u003eCarry On was a big leap in a different direction from the guitar angst of Five Star Laundry\u003c\/em\u003e,” Balfe says.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eShoot This \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003edebuted at number one in the ARIA Albums Chart, besting the #4 peak of the previous year’s \u003cem\u003eFive Star Laundry\u003c\/em\u003e.  “\u003cem\u003eWe had worked hard to promote Shoot This, so when the record went Gold and landed at number one we were on stage in Adelaide and we were pretty blown away,”\u003c\/em\u003e Damo says. “\u003cem\u003eI remember seeing a bottle of champagne backstage after the show that was gifted by our team and it didn’t take long for us to celebrate. We were The Beatles for a week and we certainly enjoyed it, I can assure you\u003c\/em\u003e!”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom there, \u003cem\u003eShoot This\u003c\/em\u003e took Motor Ace across the globe. “\u003cem\u003eWe toured relentlessly in Australia, Japan, UK and the US for the best part of two years\u003c\/em\u003e,” Matt says. “\u003cem\u003eIt was an amazing experience that opened doors to new audiences around the world and simultaneously tested us as a group and as friends. Shoot This was our bittersweet record.\u003c\/em\u003e”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile the band released just one more album, 2005’s \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eAnimal\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, before calling it a day, last month saw Motor Ace return to the live stage for their first Australian tour in 13 years.
